Existing Shape or New Shape: Decide This First

If the silhouette itself must be different, send a drawing, reference image, physical sample or other clear product direction. YH then reviews whether the shape is feasible for the intended glass ornament project and whether new mold work is required.

What the Factory Reviews Before New Mold Work
Not every visual idea can be treated as a simple tooling order. YH reviews the actual shape and product requirements against manufacturing feasibility. The aim is to identify open questions before the buyer commits to mold cost or bulk production.
Feasibility review may include the overall shape, required dimensions, product reference, intended decoration, quantity and packaging requirements. The exact review depends on the project.
Mold Cost and Ownership
Where new mold work is required, the cost is assessed according to the actual design rather than published as one generic fee. Customer-funded molds are customer-owned. The commercial scope should be confirmed in the quotation before development starts.
For new mold or new product development, YH's stated payment terms are 50% deposit and 50% before shipment. Regular orders use the standard 30% deposit / 70% before shipment terms.
What Happens After a New Shape Is Approved for Development?
- Confirm the brief. Shape, dimensions, quantity, decoration and packaging requirements are clarified.
- Confirm mold scope and cost. Any required new mold work is quoted against the actual design.
- Prepare a sample where required. Sample and international courier costs are charged according to actual project requirements; international courier is paid by the buyer.
- Buyer evaluation. The product is evaluated against the confirmed requirements.
- Bulk production after the required approvals. Production follows the confirmed specifications and, where applicable, the approved sample.
Production timing is confirmed after the project requirements and any applicable development work are reviewed. YH does not publish one fixed timing for all new-shape projects because the actual scope differs.
New Shape Does Not Mean ODM Design Service
YH's role is manufacturing feasibility and OEM production from the buyer's product direction. Buyers provide the drawing, sample, artwork or selected reference that defines what should be made. YH does not position itself as a full ODM product-design service provider.
This distinction is useful for procurement teams: if you already know the product direction and need a factory to evaluate and manufacture it, that fits the YH OEM workflow. If you need a supplier to invent the complete product concept from scratch, that is outside the way YH currently positions its service.
Forming and Decoration Boundaries
YH does not describe its glass ornaments as mouth-blown or hand-blown. Some designs can include selected hand-painted details during the decoration stage, but that is separate from the glass forming method and only applies where the design specifies it.
